In the team, a Team A player and a Team B line-up player play next to each board. A team A player throws a bag and then a team B player throws a bag until all 4 bags have fallen. When all bags are thrown for that round, the points are added together and the next round starts from the opposite Cornhole board, with the other partners taking turns throwing their bags. Determine the team that will be launched first with a toss and each round thereafter the first roll will go to the team that won the previous round. The rounds continue until one of the teams reaches 21 points or more. Corn bag in the field A bag of corn that is not in the hole but lands with part of the corn ash resting on the corn wool platform is in the count.

The playing side first alternates with throwing their bags of corn until each participant throws all four bags of corn. Participants playing from the other Cornhole platform then pitch alternately until each participant throws all four bags of corn and the entrance is complete. This style is very similar to the doubles, only the playing speed generally goes faster because fewer people throw.

Cornhole can be played as singles, doubles or in crew format . In the doubles, four players are divided into two teams. One member of each team launches from one board and the other starts from the other. In the individual game, two players play against each other. Also, the corn bags that are in the count, but that are hit by a dirty corn bag in the hole, must be returned to their original scoring position. Missing bags A dirty bag of corn is a bag of corn that has been delivered in violation of one of the rules of the game. To score, the bags must be thrown into the hole or landed on the board. A bag that falls through the hole is worth three points. The bag can be pulled directly into the hole, slipped into the hole or hit into the hole by another bag.
